At the moment this page does two things. It lets UK businesses register interest in becoming a seller when the marketplace launches, and, if you agree to it, it measures how the page is being used. This policy covers those two things and nothing else. When the marketplace goes live we will publish a fuller policy covering shopping, orders and accounts.

When you register your interest, we collect your name, business email address, phone number and company website so we can contact you about selling on ShopGB.

We use these details to tell you when seller sign-up opens, and to send you information about onboarding and launch. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests, because you asked us to get in touch. We will not add you to a general mailing list, and we will not pass your details to anyone else for their own marketing.

You can tell us to stop at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing info@shopgb.com. Stopping does not affect anything we sent beforehand.

Your details are stored in our Shopify account, which processes them on our behalf. Some of that processing takes place outside the UK, protected by the safeguards Shopify has in place. We keep registrations until the marketplace opens and for 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Admission to the ShopGB seller list is at our discretion.

If you register your interest, we collect the details you type into the form. That is your name, your business email address, your company website or store, and your contact phone number. We also record when you submitted it.

We do not ask for, and do not want, any other information. Please do not send us anything else through the form.

If you agree to analytics, we separately collect information about how the page is used: which pages you view and how long you spend on them, roughly where in the world you are at country or city level, the device, browser and operating system you are using, how you arrived at the page, and whether you went on to register. This is collected through Google Analytics, which gives your browser a randomly generated identifier. We do not use it to work out who you are, and we do not join it to the details you entered on the form.

We use your registration details to contact you about becoming a seller on the marketplace, and for nothing else. We will not add you to a general mailing list, and we will not pass your details to anyone for their own marketing. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in building a list of prospective sellers ahead of launch, which we think you would reasonably expect given you asked us to get in touch.

Where you have agreed to analytics, we use that information to understand how people are finding the page and whether the launch is reaching the right businesses. Our lawful basis for that is your consent, given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We keep the number of people and companies involved as small as we can. At the moment that is:

• Shopify hosts this page and provides the form. Your registration is stored in our Shopify account, and Shopify processes it on our behalf under their data processing terms. This is governed by Shopify's privacy policy. Some of this processing takes place outside the UK.
• Google Analytics, if you agree to analytics. Google receives information about your visit, including your IP address, which it uses to estimate roughly where you are before discarding it. This is governed by Google's privacy policy. Some of this processing takes place outside the UK.

Where information is processed outside the UK, it is protected by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We have not turned on advertising features, remarketing, or tracking you across other websites.

We keep registration details for up to 12 months from the marketplace launching, or from you telling us you are no longer interested, whichever comes first. After that we delete them.

Analytics information is held by Google and deleted automatically after 14 months. It is not linked to your registration and is not used to contact you.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. Contact us at info@shopgb.com and we will respond within one month.

Because our lawful basis for the registration list is legitimate interests, you have a particular right to object to it. If you do, we will stop unless we have a compelling reason not to, which for a launch mailing list is unlikely.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

We use a small number of cookies. Some are needed for the page to work at all, and those do not need your permission. The rest only run if you tell us you are happy with them. Nothing analytics-related is stored on your device until you agree, and if you decline it stays off.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the cookie settings button below. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing in the first place, and any analytics cookies already on your device are cleared when you do it. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings whenever you like.

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will ask you again rather than assume your previous answer still stands.
